I actually ordered a few items from the Grommet for Christmas gifts. I ordered 2 of one item which was over $35/each. They simply marked on the delivery that two were in the box and charged me for two, however, only sent one. I have reached out via email at least four times (because no one is in the office due to COVID) and they have said they would refund the money, but just simply do not do it. This is stealing and so wrong on so many levels.
Paid for two items, only received one, phone number doesn't connect, no response from customer service. How do they stay in business with this kind of service... Don't buy from them!

The Grommet provides access to many wonderful products. However, some are manufactured outside of the US and therein lies the problem. If you really love the product you buy through The Grommet, and something breaks and you need to repair or replace a part, you may have a problem being able to purchase those parts. It is difficult to provide support for every product offered, no question. But when a product is produced in another country, this is not obvious on the website and the implications of that are not disclosed. I solved my problem by just buying another one, but that was not my first or preferred choice. The product I purchased through The Grommet was a wonderful version of the French press made in the UK by the small company named Degono.
I ordered a product that I wanted to return. I lost my confirmation email with the order # and couldn't find a packing slip in the box. Tried calling different phone numbers. No one answers. One number I was told was offline and the other I was asked to leave a msg and someone would return my call... never got that call! Worst $200 spent
I ordered 3 items from The Grommet and then read the negative reviews on this website and I wanted to come back and say that I had a very positive experience with the company. I decided to purchase items from the Grommet because I know it supports small businesses and each item is shipped from each of those individual sellers. If there is an issue, its with these individual sellers and not necessarily the company itself. All my items arrive a few days after I ordered them and they are great. I like the fact that "The Grommet" Is helping small business owners, not sure of what percentage they take but my experience with the website was great.
Ordered 20"metal 65.85$ jeep, got 8" plastic POS jeep. Asked for refund, offered 10.00$

Wow, lots of negative reviews for The Grommet's customer service. My experience with them was very good. Ordered my products which all arrived. But one (pillowcase with mulitple layers) wasn't sewn properly and had come apart. I took a picture of it, logged an "other" request (you can log a return request but have to use Other for a replacement request). I also then sent a picture of the item to customer service email. It did take them 5 days to get back to me but a replacement was ordered the next day. I offered to return the damaged item and they told me to keep it or dispose of it.
I do love the unique items they sell and the fact that they support small businesses.
The Grommet took my order, charged my credit card, and then never delivered a thing. I sent two e-mails asking about the status and they never replied. Finally, after almost a month, I got through to someone at their *******140 number.
The person I talked to flat-out lied, claiming The Grommet had canceled my order the day after I placed it, had sent me e-mail to notify me, and had refunded my money.
It wasn't until the day after that call that The Grommet actually issued a refund and sent an e-mail saying the items were out of stock. Clearly, if I had not finally gotten someone on the phone, The Grommet was going to ignore my e-mails and keep my money forever.

I returned an item in early December as it did not look as nice in person. I followed all the instructions on the website and sent it back. My item has been sitting in Warsaw IN since December 14,2020. My money has not be refunded. I have emailed twice regarding this and called countless times to try to talk to someone. Apparently the entire company has closed down regarding returns and customer service due to the current health situation, however they can still ship things out? Regarding my return I am also getting back less then what I paid, with no explanation. Do not order from this company, the merchandise looks cheap and no one will get back to you.
I ordered stocking stuffers on 11/23. They charged me for the items, but I haven't received them yet! As others noted, customer service is basically non-existent. I opened an escalated dispute with PayPal yesterday and, what do you know, my package is now in Newark "heading to its destination"!
With so many reliable retailers to choose from, I will never purchase from this one again.
Have sent them three emails about my order. Have NOT received an answer back from either of them other than the automated response. My first order got lost and didn't go through. So I ordered again. Shipping costs more than doubled with NO REASON. In my emails I asked that question.
Ordered the second time on December 16th. The tracking number that I received stated it has not been picked up.
If I could give them zero starts I would. Do Not Deal with this Company!
I really recommend buying direct from suppliers. They are an unnecessary middleman. If you email customer service, the autoresponders says they will email back in 4 days. I got a response after 5. THAT IS A JOKE
